Austrian Come Back for Caroline Hatlapa
May 6, 2003
The Austrian Grand Prix dressage rider Caroline Hatlapa
is making her come back on the dressage scene next weekend
at a national dressage competition in Wiener Neustadt,
Austria. Hatlapa made her last notable performance in
1998 when she competed in the late CDIO Rennes, France.
Living in the German village Osdorf bei Gettdorf, Hatlapa
is trained by Inge Schmezer. Hatlapa had her first 2003
test ride aboard Don Jos (Donnerhall x Bonjour) at the
German national show in Braunschweig, but will be riding
her first Austrian qualifier again in five years next
weekend. Don Jos was formerly ridden by Markus Waterhues
and is an 9 year old Oldenburg stallion.
Hatlapa's greatest achievements were aboard the Trakehner
horse Merlin TSF (by Arrak x Sonnenglanz). With this
horse, Hatlapa competed at the 1996 Olympic Games in
Atlanta, USA. In 1997 Hatlapa became Austrian Dressage
Champion and in 1998 she competed Merlin TSF at the
World Equestrian Games in Rome.
