Zangersheide
in Trouble?
Last days world famous Show Jumping barn Zangersheide
has been in the middle of the media attention. Located
in Lanaken, Belgium, this 17 acres breeding centre of
mainly Holsteiner and Hanoverian Show Jumping Horses
has broken a federal law. The complete barn (which includes
seven buildings of stables and arena's) has been built
in a protected area. Nature had to be preserved in that
region of Lanaken, but instead Leon Melchior, owner
of the property, built has barn and enlarged throughout
the years. Minister Steven Stevaert refused to sign
a document which would regulate the construction of
Zangersheide in that area. Leon Melchior need to go
to court where he will probably be fined heavily for
breaking the law. More info on this matter will come
soon.
