Cinderella's Condition Deteriorating

June 26, 2007

The Australian Equestrian Federation reported the distressing news that the physical condition of WEG team horse Cinderella is not improving after the eye surgery she underwent in April 2007. A new cancerous growth was discovered on the mare's larynx and there is a chance of it spreading to other organs.

"This explains the fitness issues that occurred before Matthew Dowsley was going to ride the mare in the Wiesbaden CDI*** recently. Although the results of a further biopsy are still outstanding, the prognosis is not very good," the EFA reported.

Claudia Harper's Cinderella (by Carbid) has now moved to an establishment near Warendorf and is, according to rider Matthew Dowsley, "having a wonderful time".

Matthew wrote: "Cinders is stabled at night and out in a beautiful post-and-rail grassed paddock during the day having a lovely time. Although it is quite sad to watch her passaging around the yard as she sees me on another horse or even leading one. As if to say: 'What about me, I'll do it better than any of them'."
