Breeding News:
1998 Stallion Approval
Stallions like Paradox, Pilot, and Fruhlingstraum made
the Westphalian Association very famous. Yet at the
1998 Westphalian stallion approval it was an Oldenburger
sire who produced the champion stallion in combination
with the Westphalian Rosenkavalier x Apart. Maria Bergjohan
from Dulmen bred the wonderful darkbay, 16.2 hands high
Don Bedo, who is presently leased by the Westphalian
Verband for further breeding. Reserve Champion was a
darkbay, 16.1 hands high Donnerwind x Mephistopheles
x Burnus AA.
In the Westphalian Pony stallion approval a palomino
Top Nonstop x Durello x Downland Chevalier achieved
the title of 1998 Keuring Champion. Florian Karns is
the lucky owner of this beauty. Reserve Champion was
a Dressman x Voltreffer
x Estroon ox. This dapple grey pony is owned by Andrea
Melcheier from Weskott. Dressman has been several times
German Dressage Pony Champion under Astrid Buer (who
is now a young rider) and Desiree Schurf (fourth at
EC 1998). The Westphalian auctions often feature quality
dressage ponies which are sired by the chestnut Dressman.
