Itaxerxes Passed Away

July 17, 2005

Soon after the recent passing of Elite Stallion Enrico Caruso, the Trakehner society lost another elite stallion, Itaxexes. Bred by Gestut Webelsgrund, Itaxerxes is by Tenor out of Irka II (Cardinal xx x Impuls x Pythagoras).

"Nothing is normal about him! Neither his name, nor his color, not his charisma, not at all his impulsion, his movements, which inspire adoration. Unusual and unique is his ancestry," his owner at Gestut Nornenhof said.

Maren Engelhardt of Trakehner International describes Itaxerxes as following: " The stallion was the first, completely accepted and undisputed champion in NMS. Even today you will meet people that described his victory in NMS as the most inspiring moment. With his color, aura and expression, coupled with outstanding movement, the radiant chestnut had many fans. From a breeding perspective, we have to be fair and say that he was not always able to reproduce his own brilliance. Some of his get came after him, and many also inherited excellent jumping potential, others, however, were rather mediocre in their quality."

Itaxerxes has four approved offspring: Bardolino, Dexter, Primeur and Kir Royal. He became 23 years old
