Trakehner Stallion Saint Cloud Sold to Denmark
February 14, 2003
The
trahkener stallion Saint Cloud has been sold to Denmark
and is again ready for breeding. The 15-year old black
Grand Prix dressage stallion gained international fame
under rider Karin Rehbein and was sold to Switzerland
in 1999. There, he competed for a short while under
the Swiss Barbara von Grebel, who aimed at competing
at the 2000 Olympic Games with him.
Saint Cloud has now permanently moved to Denmark, where
he will be ridden by owner Jan Bastrup Pedersen and
up for stud at co-owner Niels Gröndal's stallion station
Støvring Hingstedeport A/S, Denmark.
Niels Gröndal is a well known Danish horse breeder
who marketed stallion such as the Hanoverian Aktuell
(by Absatz) and the famous show jumper and Olympic bronze
medal winning Lando. Jan Bastrup Pedersen trained Trakehner
stallions such as Travell, the most successful Trakehner
in Denmark in 2002, and the former German Bundeschampion
Induc.
Saint
Claud is by Neuquen xx out of St. Pr. St Silke (by Incitatus)
and is bred by Martha Haasler. He was reserve champion
of the Stallion Licensing in Neumunster in 1990. He
went on to become vice champion at the Munchen – Riem
stallion performance test in 1991 with an overall rideability
score of 153 points and an index of 137,08 points. As
a three and four year old Saint Cloud was often successful
in conformation show classes.
Saint Cloud has five approved sons in Germany, including
Manhattan and the renowned Bundeschampionate champion
Latimer. He has also produced many high priced auction
horses at the Verden and Klosterhof Medingen Elite Sport
Horse Auctions.
Saint Cloud will be featured in a special show at the
Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning March
6 to 9, 2003.
