Gestut Schlossacker Presents 2004 South German Licensing Champion

The bay Baden Wurttemberger Sir Charles x Lancer II colt, owned by Gestut Schlossacker, won the 2004 South German Stallion Licensing in Munich, Germany. The Sir Charles colt is bred by Helmut und Andre Bauer from Keltern, Germany, and is out of State Premium Mare Erste Sahne (Lancer II x Calypso I ), who also sired the approved stallion Carpe Diem.

Head of the 2004 licensing committee, Martin Plewa, described the licensing champion as "a brown noble man with extraordinary gaits, a text-book athlete." Thirty stallions out of a lot of seventy-six were licensed. Ten stallions reserved the premium label.

Reserve Champion of the 2004 licensing was a 3-year old Baden Wurttemberger Carpe Diem x Sanssoucis colt bred and owned by Alfred Schmelcher from Gomadingen-Dapfen. Runner up is a 3-year old Baden Wurttemberger colt by Dr. Jackson x Lutz, owned by Gestut Schlossacker.

The South German Breed Society includes the breeding societies of Baden Wurttemberg, Bavaria, Hessen, Rhineland Pfalz Saar, Sachsen and Thuringen, and held its very first group stallion licensing last weekend in Munich.

After the licensing, an auction of licensed and non licensed stallions took place. Most expensive colt was purchased by Hans Werner Aufrecht through German Show Jumping chef d'equipe Kurt Gravenmeier. Aufrecht bough a Westfalian stallion by Lupicor x Polydor for 60,000 €. Average price for a licensed colt was 25,722 €.
