2004 Oldenburg Elite Mare Show in Rastede
"On the Scene"
What is "Rastede"?
- About 100 selected 3- and 4-year-old Oldenburg mares have their traditional gathering in the surrounding Park of Rastede Castle to find "Oldenburg's best girl":
Out of about 500 mares, inspected and graded at the spring registrations, 250 qualify for the performance testing for selected mares, held in Vechta from May 10th to 13th, 2004.
Following the assessment in loose-jumping, ridden testing and the foreign rider, the mares are presented in a walking group and the title Verbandsprämie is being awarded, whereas the about 100 best mares recieve the invitation for Rastede Elitestutenschau.
At the Elite Mare Show the highest national title for 3- and 4-year-old mares at inspection, called Staatsprämienstute (States Premium Mare), is given to the very best only. From these selected mares, the about 30 best ones form the Brilliantring, the highlight of the mare season - and finally the winning mare is chosen - a truly unforgettable moment!
