Warmblood Breeding News:
Chairman of KWPN Stallion Licensing Commission,
Ab Barneveld, Steps Down
The
Dutch agrarian paper "Agrarisch Dagblad" reported that
Ab Barneveld resigned from his position as chairman
of the KWPN stallion licensing commission. In his official
resignation letter, Barneveld explained that he no longer
agreed with the way the KWPN was organizing and leading
the selection trials for stallion licensing.
Johan Vanderbosch, one of Holland's major stallion
owners and member of the breeding commission testified:
"We regret it deeply that the future will not bring
us calmer tides". Chairman of the alliance of stallion
owners, Jaap Werners, said the following: "the continuity
of the breeding policy is at stake."
KWPN director Co Goedegebure flew with KWPN breeding
commission chairman Johan Knaap to the United States,
where they will attend the Annual Members Meeting of
the NA/WPN association- North American district.
The 11th NA/WPN Annual Meeting will be held in San
Antonio, Texas from March 18 through 21, 1999. The meeting
will include lectures, discussions and social events.
Ab Barneveld planned to hold a lecture on OCD and its
effects at this meeting.
