Florencio Wins 2009 VHO Trophy at KWPN Stallion Licensing

Hans Peter Minderhoud and the Westfalian licensed (and KWPN approved) stallion Florencio (by Florestan) won the VHO Trophy at the 2009 KWPN Stallion Licensing in 's Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, on February 5, 2009.

The VHO Trophy is a one class competition for KWPN approved stallions held annually at the KWPN licensing. They have to ride a Kur to Music as Prix St Georges or Grand Prix level. The higher scorer is the winner of the class.

Minderhoud and Florencio reclaimed the trophy as they were the winners last year. Riding to a Queen based Kur to Music, Florencio excelled in the quality of his basic gaits and scored 74.08%. Minderhoud also finished second aboard Tango (by Jazz) with 73.41%. Swedish Patrik Kittel amazed the crowds with Scandic (by Solos Carex). The pair received a standing ovation from the audience after their Grand Prix freestyle, which earned them 72.75%.
