Millionaire Xavier Marie Buys Price Highlights at 2007 Hanoverian Stallion Auction

The French magnate spend a record amount of money at the 2007 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing in Verden, purchasing both the licensing champion in dressage (700,000 euro) and in show jumping (600,000 euro) as well as acquiring two more premium dressage stallions (178,000 euro). The stunt expenditure of 800,000 euro paid for Hotline by the Danish Blue Hors Stud at the 2005 licensing was not shredded to pieces by mogul Marie, who establed his breeding farm Haras de Hus only three years ago. Nine colts in total sold to France at the auction of Hanoverian licensed and non licensed stallions.

Marie paid 700,000 euro for the Sandro Hit x Donnerhall colt who was the dressage licensing champion and 600,000 euro for the Cornet Obolensky x Gambler's Cup xx colt that became the show jumping licensing champion.

The third and fourth most expensive price paid for a licensed colt at the auction was for two Florencio offspring. The dressage reserve champion was a liver chestnut stallion by Florencio out of Donner de Nero (by De Niro x Argentinus) and sold to the Celle State Stud for 310,000 euro. A stallion station in Westfalia purchased the Florencio x Regazzoni x Silvio I for 210,000 euro.

Forty-nine stallions were licensed this year and forty-eight sold at auction. They achieved an average price of 85,333 euro.

The most expensive non licensed stallion was purchased by the Danish Blue Hors Stud for 47,000 euro. Blue Hors manager Esben Moeller acquired the black stallion by Dauphin x Singular Joter for rider Andreas Helgstrand. Thirty-three non licensed stallion were auctioned and they achieved an average price of 18,818 euro.
