Santorini Passed Away

January 8, 2004

Santorini in CanadaThe black semi-Thoroughbred stallion Santorini has passed away at the Royal Mounted Police Canada Breeding Farm in Pakenham, Ontario. Santorini, who is licensed for the Hanoverian studbook, was secured by the RMPC with the help of Dr Ludwig Christmann moving to Canada in November 2000. The RMPC was forced to humanly put down Santorini in November 2003.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police praised Santorini for his wonderful temperament which he passed down to his offspring, and his good athletic ability and exceptional rideability.

Santorini was bred by Alfred Kratzke and is by Sunlight xx out of Dornroeschen (Dirk x Argentan). In Germany, Santorini was trained at S level and was up for stud at the Landesgestüt in Celle. He has two licensed sons: Souvenir (Santorini x Argentan) and one by Santorini x Dynamo.
