First Round of 2009 Danish Young Horse Championships Concluded

The first round of the 2009 Danish Young Horse Championships held at the Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning, Denmark, wrapped up today. All youngsters have been presented under saddle by their steady riders and were scored by a panel of judges on their gaits, rideability and potential.

Leading so far is Uno Donna Unique, an already highly decorated young mare by Blue Hors Don Schufro x Falkland x Tannenberg and bred and owned by Joan and Søren Andreasen. Under Andreas Helgstrand (photo shows previous rider Dorthe Sjobeck Hoeck), this lovely mare topped the leader board and referred Helgstrand's Hønnerups Driver (by Blue Hors Romanov) to a second place.

Tomorrow guest judge rider Rune Willum will be riding the top ranked horses and attributing new scores to them for their rideability and potential. His score combined with the score of the judges will determine the winners of this year's Danish Young Horse Championship.
