Langar, Internationally Decorated FEI Dressage Pony
This is a very rare opportunity to acquire an extremely experienced and highly competitive international FEI Dressage pony. Langar is a 13-year old Westfalian bred German Reitpony gelding which has taken three different riders to three European Pony Championships. With an international scoring average between 66 - 70%, this pony can be a guaranteed top ten pony and team medallist with a talented pony rider.
Langar was initially a licensed pony breeding stallion in Germany and produced successful offspring, but he was gelded soon after in order to focus fully on dressage. He has an outstanding pedigree with Lukas as sire and Downland Folklore as dam sire. The latter also produced the 1997 European Pony Champion Casper.
Langar's international FEI career started in 2003 when he was a 6-year old. Under British Nathalia Allen he competed at the 2003 European Pony Championships in Ireland and won the team bronze medal. In 2004, Portia Manning took over the ride on this brilliantly moving pony and scored high marks continously. She won the 2004 CDI Addington preliminary test with 69.75% and finished third in the individual test with 68.49%. They also competed at the CDI Freundenberg and CDI Saumur, where the pair scored 67.07% in the team test.
In 2005, Langar and Mannin became a real combination. At the CDI Saumur they finished seventh in the team test with 67.632% and sixth in the Kur to Music finals with 71.450%. At the CDI Freudenberg they placed seventh in the individual finals. Of course they were selected on the British team for the 2005 European Pony Championships in Pratoni del Vivaro, Italy, where they scored 66,250% in the first round to win again the team bronze medal and they finished second in the consolation finals with 66,316%
In 2006, Langar moved to his current owner, who was 12-year old (!!) at the time. She immediately qualified Langar for the British team and competed at the European Pony Championships in Saumur, France. They scored 66.65 % in the preliminary test, 66.42 % in the team test and 66.40 % in the individual test to finish 14th in the Finals.
Over the years, Leak and Langar grew to new heights and the pony continued to improve. In 2007 the combination won the British Youth Riders selection trials with 77.75% in the kur to msuic after having ridden an 68.42 % score in the team test. In 2008, his owner/rider qualified Langar for the European Championships.
Langar is like red wine. He gets better with age. With his rider now more experienced, Langar really started to shine. At the 2009 CDI Addington, they scored 67.222% in the team test, 70.789% in the individual test (2nd place), and 71.08% in the Kur to Music. At the 2009 CDI-P Moorsele Langar proved his worth for the team and finished 11th in the Kur to Music finals with 66,167%. At national level in Great Britain, Langar scored consistently in the late sixties this year. He has been selected as the travelling reserve for the British team that will compete at the 2009 European Pony Championships in Moorsele.
Langar can take any pony rider into the ribbons with his experience and mileage. He has been there and done it all and has only got better at it over the years . He is easy to ride, safe to handle and has fantastic stable manners. He can be ridden by young children as well as ambitious FEI pony riders who want to be in the winner's circle.
This pony is unfortunately for sale as the owner is going on to junior riders.
