Patrick de Deken waiting patiently for his daughter Julie de Deken (Belgian Young Rider) to wrap up her three-days of competition in Duisburg. Parents do so much for their children, not only in the equestrian world. Even if they have no affiliation with horses, they will sacrifice entire weekends (and money) to see their children rejoice in their love for horses and the equestrian sport. This reminds me so much of my own father, who sat in the grass for hours while I was competing my pony.
