Though Dressmann won the entire pony tour and three classes in total, there was in fact only one true winner (at least of the Sunday class), and that was Lydia Camp on the palomino pony Dulcia.
The duo's individual ride was equally flawless, clean, correct, expressive, light, and steady as Dressman's and Winkelhues's. So, what determines the winner. If both have two identical rides it's the quality of the horse that should persevere in the judges' decision. Unfortunately this did not happen in Duisburg. The judges played safe by granting victory to routinier Dressmann, but everybody knew that Dulcia has taken over the axe of power in the FEI Pony Circuit and was the best pony in Duisburg. No, not only in Duisburg, but everywhere. Dulcia is currently the best FEI Pony competing in Europe. In Duisburg, the pair finished third.
