Werner, Price Highlight of the 2009 Verden Summer Auction

WernerCatalog number one of the 2009 Hanoverian Summer Auction in Verden, Germany, on July 24-25, 2009, became the top selling horse straight away. The 4-year old chestnut gelding by Welser x Buenos Aires x Toscanini sold for 60,000 euro to Sweden.

The second most expensive horse was number four, Lord Fauntleroy, a 4-year old black gelding by Londonderry x World Cup III x Wellington, which sold for 45,000 € to Austria.

The highest knockdown price for a show jumper was 37,000 eurp. Connex, by Contendro x Graf Granns, sold to Schleswig-Holstein for that amount.

Eighty-nine Hanoverian sport horses sold at this Summer Auction. They achieved an average selling price of 14,743 euro. The biggest group of buyers came from Great Britain (8 horses sold), Spain (5) and France (4). Three Hanoverians sold to Denmark, two to Finland and Italy.
