Da Vinci T, Price Highlight of the 2009 Verden Spring Elite Auction

 The Don Crusador x Weltmeyer-son Da Vinci T was the
top-priced horse of the 120th Hanoverian Elite Riding Horse Auction in Verden, Germany, April 17-18, 2009. A
well-known show stable in Rhineland purchased the gelding (breeder: Helga
Tschierske, Dohren, exhibitor: Johann Johannsen, Buxtehude) for 160,000 euro. The
87 auction horses were sold at an average price of 24,034 €.
Most expensive show jumping horse of the collection was the
six-year-old stallion Cisco by Cento x Singular Joter (breeder: Dr.
Karl-Otto Jacobs, Bierbergen, exhibitor: Werner Andreas Meixner,
Burgwedel). The grey was sold for 52,000 euro to Belgium.
The auction horses were sold to thirteen different countries. Thirty-two Hanoverians will
leave Germany. Belgian customers purchased five youngsters, followed by
Great Britain with four and France, Italy, the United States and
Switzerland with each three purchased horses.
Taking the current market situation into consideration, the overall
result was quite satisfactory. "The price level was lower than last
year. But the price structure was good and there were some top-priced
horses among them," auction manager Dr. Guenther Friemel said. The
result is certainly also due to the excellent customers relations of the
Hanoverian Society.
 There were brisk sales at the Foal Auction, resulting in an average
auction sales price of 7,455 €. This is 1,000 € more than last
year. Fifty-six foals in
total were presented at auction. Stallion raisers from Austria purchased the bay colt Sir Wester
by Soliman de Hus x De Niro (breeder and exhibitor: Anne Wester, Stavern) for the top knock down price of 58,000 euro.
Thirty-eight foals were sold within Germany, eighteen to other European countries.
The filly Danuta FRH by Dancier x Worldly (breeder: Detlef Ruddat,
Kirchlinteln) was raffled on behalf of FRH, the supporter's club
for Hanoverian sport horses. Lucky winner was the German soccer legend
Horst Hrubesch.
During the Gala Evening, Jochen Dittmer from Lehringen was honoured
with the Hans Joachim Köhler-Prize as most successful auction exhibitor
of the last ten years. The Grande-Prize was awarded the first time.
Winner was Angelika Westerhoff from Lueneburg, the breeder of Celle
state stud stallion Don Frederico by Donnerhall x Consul. The 12-year-old
dressage stallion Don Frederico successfully competes up to St. Georg-level, and apart
from successful competition horses, he also sired 96 state premium mares
and 221 Verden auction foals and riding horses. This new award is to
honour stallions between 10 and 13 years who already have a considerable
influence on the Hanoverian breed as young stallion.
