New Record Achieved at the 29th Verden Foal Auction;
Estonia Pays 60,000 €
September 1, 2003
With
an average auction sales price of 6,466.46 € for
161 foals sold, the Hanoverian Association achieved
a new record at an elite foal auction. The Argentinus-x
Alme-son All Star ZH II (breeder: Horst Zöllmer, Südergellersen)
was the best foal of the auction. Breeders from Estonia
accepted the bid at 60,000 €. All Star II is a
breeding result from the Hanoverian Breeding Program
Show Jumpers.
The auction of 16 brood mares was also very successful.
They left the auction hall at an average auction sales
price of 11,850 €. The state premium candidate
Delaya by Daidalos x Bergkristall (breeder: Heinrich
Beckedorf, Seevetal) was the most expensive Hanoverian
horse.
Delaya
was sold at 36,000 €. The brown mare was mated
to the winner of last year's stallion licensing, His
Highness. The owner of the black stallion, the American
Douglas W. Leatherdale, bought the mare.
80 of the 161 foals sold will be exported. This is
an export rate of a good 50%. Only three of the totally
16 mares sold will stay in Germany. Italy, Sweden and
the United States were the greatest buyers.
