Top-class riders acquired elite horses from Verden
The
result of the 106th elite auction of Hanoverian riding
horses and foals on Saturday evening was satisfying.
The 56 riding horses achieved an average auction sales
price of € 26,223, the 57 foals were averagely
sold at € 5,207.
Prior to the auction, some of the best dressage and
show jumping riders came to Verden to check the collection.
Medal winners like Lars Nieberg, Holger Wulschner, Jessica
Kürten and Isabell Werth, Martin Schaudt and Ellen Schulten-Baumer
place their hopes in young Hanoverian horses.
In the run-up to the auction, the dressage prospect
Weltmeyer Junior by Weltmeyer – Brentano II (breeder:
Haus Langenbrück, Westerkappeln) seemed to be the favourite
of this auction. The youngster was exhibited by Karl
Specker, Ankum, and was indeed sold at the top price
of € 215,000 to the Linsenhoff family.
Right
at the very beginning, the auction no. 1 already caused
a little sensation: The show jumping prospect Rubesco
by Raphael – Werther (breeder: Rudi Staab, Wathlingen)
was sold at € 115,000. The exhibitor Manfred Winkler,
Wendeburg was partner of ownership to the well known
Italian Valleluva stud, which is specialised on show
jumpers. It was the highest price ever paid for a show
jumper at a Verden auction. The Canadian Mill Creek
stables already bought various equestrian talents in
Verden before, which, in the meantime, are successfully
competing with Eric Lamaze on international level.
There was again a great quantity of spectators from
countries all over the world, who were lively interested
in this auction. 10 horses were sold to the United States,
three to Great Britain and each one to Canada, Estonia,
France, Italy and – for the first time – to Kyrgistan.
The highest price for a foal was paid right at the
beginning of the foal auction: A Hanoverian fan from
North Rhine Westphalia bought Goethes Liebste by Goethe
– De Niro (breeder: Henning Schulze, Tiddische) at €
19,000. The young prospect has exceptional basic gaits
and is extremely true to type.
13 foals were sold abroad: 4 of them to the United
States, three to Spain, two to Canada and each one to
Denmark, Estonia, France and the Netherlands.
