Hanoverian
Auctions in Verden
103rd Elite Auction of Hanoverian Sport Horses,
Ponies and Foals
The 103rd elite auction of Hanoverian sport horses
has been a break through, a confirmation that the the
trend, started in the 90s, shows an exponential push
what concerns exporting Hanoverians. 50% of the complete collection
was sold to foreign countries for top prices. The result
is that not only is the Hanoverian breed strengthening
its position world wide, but it is also creating an irrational international
sale that pushes up the prices so hard that "normal"
dressage riders can no longer buy the "better"
dressage horse.
Highlight
of the collection, which consisted of 80 young sport
horses, went to Perry and Peggy Thomas of River Grove
Farm in Sun Valley, Idaho. Verden's most loyal buyers
have plunged down their pockets so deap again that took
home Fight Club, an enormously talented Fabriano
x Augustinus xx gelding, for 430,000 DM or approximately
$215,000. Second most expensive mount,the Davignon x
Freiherr grey gelding Djakarta, was acquired by Dr Ludwig
Christmann for 350,000DM. The gelding will travel to
the United States, as Dr Christmann is claimed to have
mediated for Mrs Nancy Gooding of Plum Creek Hollow
Farm in Denver, Colorado.
Habitus,
the reserve Bundeschampion in Warendorf in the 4-year-old
division, moves to Westfalia for the amount of 320,000DM.
The Trakehner x Hanoverian cross by Hohenstein/T x Weltmeyer
will definitely be seen back in the show arena soon.
Cockpit, the Compliment x Eiger II gelding with grand
dam Bunette (dam Nissan Gigolo FRH) in his bloodline,
was sold for 210,000DM to Sissy Max Theurer in Austria.
The same price was paid for the black mare Desert Rose.
This Donnerhall x Pik Bube II beauty is going to Mexico.
In total more than 14 horses got sold for over 100,000
Deutsch Marks, making the average price per horse 68,250
DM. 15 horses went to the USA, Mexico imported 7, Canada
6. Two mounts went to Belgium, Spain, Great Britain
and France. One horse went a buyer from Holland, Austria
and Brazil.
