P.S.I. Auktion
Holland Excited About Purchase Poetin
December 12, 2003
The
Netherlands are ravished that the Dutch couple Peter
and Patty van der Zwan have purchased Poetin, the best
young dressage horse currently walking the face of
the earth. The Dutch equestrian press is filled with
articles about
the sale of Poetin and her Dutch ownership. The Van
der Zwans, who own breeding station De Keizershoeve
in
Kessel,
The
Netherlands, purchased
Poetin (Sandro Hit x Brentano II) for 2,5 million Euro
at the 24th P.S.I. Auction in Ankum, December 7, 2003.
Peter
van der Zwan is ecstatic about his latest acquisition.
"We saw her first at the World Championships in Verden
and we thought she was a very special horse then.
In fact, we were completely blow away by her. Something
special
happens to the audience, when this mare enters the
ring. People get goose bumps and become very emotional,"
Van der Zwan explained.
When Peter and Patty heard that Poetin was for sale
after the World Championships, they immediately jumped
at it. "Without result," Van der Zwan said, "because
Schockemohle and Kasselmann were already negotiating
to sell her through P.S.I." Last weekend, the Van der
Zwans traveled to Ankum to by her their beloved mare
there.
Poetin will be furthered trained as dressage horse
by Patty van der Zwan. "My wife will be training with
Ulli Kasselmann, where Poetin will stay
for now. Besides competing her, we also want to use
her for embryotransplantation. We
annually
breed fifteen foals at our farm in Kessel and believe
that Poetin will be a valuable contribution to our
breeding program," Peter van der Zwan said.
