2010 Classic Sales Warendorf

Absolute Highlights in 2010 Classic Sales Warendorf Collection

January 19, 2010

The premiere of the CSW (Classical Sales Warendorf) Auction, in 2009, is still remembered for the fantastic collection it presented. Now, the next auction – scheduled for March 25, 2010 at 7pm – has even more highlights in store.

“We can only say that the quality of the collection is very, very good,” confirmed a delighted Susanne Miesner and Fabian Scholz, the brains behind the auction. “This includes a four-year-old approved stallion who won his stallion performance test, a horse who has been successful at the Bundeschampionat and a gelding who is already competing successfully at S (advanced) level, who was also successful at the World Championships for Young Horses and at the Bundeschampionat, to name but a few,” added Miesner.

Both Pferdewirtschaftsmeisters have been clocking up the miles to piece together the collection of 20 horses. “The focus during the selection was not so much on the above-average paces, but especially on the excellent training the horses had hitherto received. Our clients want relaxed, happy horses who are easy to ride and who react to the subtlest of aids,” explained Scholz. The second CSW Auction is made up of mainly four and five-year-olds from practically every breeding area, including Hannover, Oldenburg, Rheinland, Westphalia and many more. Successful six to eight-year-olds, trained up to a level appropriate for their age, complete the collection. The horses’ backgrounds are all traceable, because transparency is one of the CSW team’s maxims.

The ‘auction with a philosophy’ hit the headlines with its premiere in Spring 2009 with a price highlight of 150,000 euros and an average price of 43,100 euros. Many renowned training yards in Germany as well as riders from Chile, Luxembourg, Russia, Poland and the Netherlands secured themselves talented horses. Five horses drew prices above 50,000 euros.

The main priority is to train the auction horses according to the principles of classical riding. “Our aim is to show that a training system which respects the horses’ age and an efficient marketing strategy can go hand in hand. The demand for correctly-trained, easy-to-ride horses remains high,” said Susanne Miesner. To add to their balance and well-being, the CSW horses are given daily access to sand and/or grass paddocks. There is also a reason behind the collection being so small, as Scholz explains: “That is the only way for the horses and the customers to receive truly individual attention. We want to provide our customers with a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere in which they can try out their favourite without any pressure.”

The complete collection is now stabled at the Wietelshof and is ready to be tried out. We are just one phone call away.
